Alex L. Moschella

For more than 25 years, Alex has dedicated his legal career to helping elders and their families navigate the complex issues surrounding estate and tax planning, Medicare and Medicaid, long-term care and guardianships. He has been certified as an Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation.

From 1983 to 1992, Alex maintained a private practice in Boston where he represented families with disabled children and the elderly in asset protection and estate planning. He joined with James Nelligan to form MEDLAW in 1992, and eight years later combined with Neal Winston's practice in 2000 to form Moschella & Winston, LLP.

Alex has served on the Board of Directors of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), and is a Fellow of the NAELA. He has served as Chair of the Task Force on Multidisciplinary Practices, co-editor of the NAELA newsletter, and past President of the Massachusetts Chapter of NAELA.

Alex currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Alzheimer's Association.

Since 1991, Alex has been an adjunct faculty member at Suffolk University Law School, teaching elder law. He has served as Acting Executive Director and Assistant Director of the Massachusetts Bar Association (MBA), and has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Arlington Council on Aging.

Alex is a widely sought lecturer on elder law topics and has authored a number of articles on elder law issues.

A graduate of Villanova University, Alex received his J.D. degree from Suffolk University Law School. He received the Suffolk Alumni Public Service Award in 2002, and in 2005 earned the prestigious Charles P. Kindregan, Jr. Award for Extraordinary Contributions to the Center for Advanced Legal Studies.
